This is a real simple recipe for the famous Italian dish polenta. To make this dish, you only need three ingredients: water, salt, and cornmeal. The important thing therefore is to get a good quality cornmeal. You can cook yellow or white cornmeal depending on your mood, preference and availability. Some like to cook polenta with an aromatic stock like chicken, veal, or fish broth instead of just plain water. You can go for this version for a more flavorful dish but keep in mind that it will affect the color and taste of the polenta. Since polenta is typically served as a side dish to main courses, consider whether the flavors will combine well. Before experimenting with polenta, however, it is best to stick with the basics first and perfect it then add seasonings and enhancements later on.
Polenta can be enjoyed pretty much like rice or porridge, on its own or with other meats and fish. Some even prepare dessert versions of polenta. The basic method though, is more or less the same. You bring the water to a boil and simmer and gently pour the ground cornmeal. If you add the polenta too quickly, the end product becomes lumpy so keep the stream thin and steady, stirring constantly. The polenta has to be cooked over very low heat, and since it takes a long time to cook, the cornmeal has to be cooked in a heavy stockpot or slow cooker so it doesnâ��t burn and the heat is distributed evenly. In Italy, they use a special copper pot called paiolo to make polenta although is not necessary to obtain an excellent-tasting dish.
When cooked right, polenta is creamy and smooth and wonâ��t stick to the sides of the pan. You can top polenta with freshly grated Parmesan cheese, as is the custom in Italy or stir in some aromatic herbs like chopped tarragon, basil, or thyme for an invigorating dish.

Lots of turning, twisting, and redoing but I was finally able to do this right after half an hour and master it after an hour more. With a complex folding presented so understandable, I didn’t have much trouble at all. With the other tutorials I’ve followed, that half an hour was four folds!
