You can prepare an unbelievably delicious and super healthy Italian appetizer in as little as five minutes. This recipe for shockingly delicious Cannellini beans with Olive Oil Garlic and Oregano requires no cooking. It makes use of precooked canned cannellini beans and since it is prepared as a salad, you don’t have to heat it. You simply drain and mix it in with aromatic herbs and season it with an olive oil and garlic dressing. If you find the garlic to too harsh and astringent, simply heat the whole thing in a skillet to soften the garlic and bring out its sweetness. The heated version will work well as a side dish to meat or fish. Think of it as a healthier and heavier side dish to mashed potatoes or French fries.

Heated, you can also top this over rice or eat it as a substitute to grains once in a while. This is a very filling but low fat dish that can also be enjoyed on its own if you’re on a diet or if you’re vegetarian or vegan. A splendid source of proteins, folic acid, iron, and magnesium, a single serving of this dish will provide a good amount of daily nutrients.

If friends are coming over, you can whip this up in no time and top it over toasted bread or crackers for a gourmet Italian snack. You can also serve it with tomato or marinara sauce to enhance its flavor. It will also be perfect with chips or nachos. Serve it with ice cold beer or a refreshing bottle of white wine and you have yourself a party.
